May 6 - "Gotcha Day"

Thanks for your kind comments - I haven't been very good at responding this last little while. I so much appreciate the support and kind words.

Not really a fair trade but our agency called yesterday and informed me that we'll be getting Abby on the 6th, not the 7th. So we waited 20 months longer than we had planned and now we'll get her one day sooner than we thought. We'll take what we can get.

The plans are that we leave May 1st, stay in Beijing until the 6th - fly to Changsha in the am and receive Abby in the afternoon. Stay in Changsha until the 13th, hopefully travel to Yongzhou and to the Daoxian orphanage during that week, and then off to Guangzhou and then home on the 17th. Whew! It will be a great adventure! Stay tuned...

May 1 - May 17!!

Woo hoo!! After many frustrating, annoying hours (I'm not even kidding) we've made our flight reservations. We'll be leaving on May 1, spending a couple of days in Beijing, picking up Shasha in Changsha on the 7th, heading to Guangzhou on the 14th and then home on the 17th. Whew! Time to get packing...

Hunan Province Map

No news on CA today so I didn't get to spend any time making flight arrangements. Therefore, I was surfing and found this map. Shasha is in Daoxian, Hunan Province. Hunan is in the southern part of China, just north of Guangdong (which is yellow), which is just north of Hong Kong. Daoxian is in the south-central part of Hunan and hopefully we'll get to go there and share some photos.

T.A., waiting for CA

We got our TA, or travel approval and now we're just waiting for our CA, or Consulate appointment. It should have happened today and it didn't so I'm really hoping we'll hear tomorrow. Once we have a date and time for our CA then we can FINALLY make our TP, travel plans. ha ha Really, we will then be able to finalize exactly when we are leaving and whether we'll be able to go to Shasha's orphanage or not and all of the lovely, mind-boggling details. I can't wait!!!
